You know that at Magic Office, we love Office Managers. Each Office Manager has a different view of the business, we figured those who speak the best, is all of you. So, this week, we give over the floor to Anais, Office Manager at Limpide

Anais, where do you work?

I work at Limpide. Limpide is an independent digital communication agency, specializing in UX/UI design, digital marketing and brand identity.

When and how did you decide to become an Office Manager?

In 2017, I decided to start over, after a 10-year career in Trade. I did a skills assessment and the profession Office Manager was highlighted. I negotiated my leave, redid my CV and found work early 2018.

Is your educational background related to Office Management? If yes, how?

No, but given that I was the former Boutique Manager at Forum des Halles, the administrative, accounting and HR side of work was familiar.

As an Office Manager, who are your interlocutors?

The Managers, the team, the suppliers, the accounting agency, clients…In short, lots of people.

According to you, what are the job complexities on a daily basis?

Juggling between all the various tasks and handling emergencies.

What superpowers does an Office Manager need?

Good mood, a passion for challenge and prioritizing tasks.

Which skills would you like to acquire in the next 6 months?

Master Excel better which makes my life easier.

According to you, what is the digital transformation in Office Management all about?

There are more and more tools which makes life easier, in terms of pay slips, expense reports, mutual management…

The tool you can’t make do without?

Slack <3 to be reachable all the time.

Why do we often hear that an Office Manager is everyone’s “mom”?

Due to the listening and benevolence, but I find this expression reductive. We aren’t here to coddle people but to make sure that their working environment is ideal. I feel that this overshadows our skills and our professionalism, a little.

What is the best excuse one has given to you, to justify a payment delay?

"I am not the right interlocutor" Wooaahhh, such a wicked lie.

If you had 2 hours of free time on a daily basis, what would you do ?

More sports, I don’t have the time and I miss it.

How do you see Office Management in 10 years?

I see the general public more familiar with it and a genuinely adapted training.

A little word to end?

Extremely happy about starting over, go for it!
